Please see the attached article concerning the Postal Service. The Postal Service is asking Congress to eliminate provisions of our contract that would prevent layoffs.

By now I am sure you are all aware of the bombshell the USPS dropped on us in a Congressional white paper. Before we could even send our new CBA to the printer, Donohoe is urging Congress to abrogate our Agreement. If nothing else comes of this heinous act, it should make it clear to us exactly who we are dealing with.

Postal reform is a hot topic in Congress as the Senate prepares to vote on the 21st Century Postal Service Act, and APWU President Cliff Guffey is urging union members to contact their senators and let them know: Senate bill 1789 is unacceptable in its current form.
