OOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo On behalf of the officers and members of the Illinois Postal Workers Union, “Welcome To Our Site". We hope this site assists you with any information you might need.
As the new Illinois State President, taking office January 2008, I've had the opportunity to think about what this organization stands for -- to provide education, legislation and representation.
I would like to see an increase in members at large and local participation in state sponsored seminars and conferences.
I would like to continue on the road paved by previous Presidents; to remain political players by donating to COPA as well as continued involvement in campaigns while meeting with Congressional leaders.
I would like all members, whether represented by a local or a member at large, to know that they will be provided the best representation available anywhere. |
OOOOOOOOOOooooooooo Another significant goal of mine is to aggressively organize non-members. Currently, the state of Illinois has around 150 potential members at large. I believe through more contact and representation, we can get these MAL’s to join the IPWU. It goes without saying that all local’s, large and small, should continue to try to organize their non-members.
The ultimate objective of this Union, in fact all Unions, is to improve the lives of the members we represent; both economically and in their working environment. We are the hope of working people everywhere. As Union members and leaders, we must remain solid and fight for the rights of all workers.
